Shuman Concepts Monthly Report: Membership Fundamentals

When a prospect inquires about your school one of the key factors they are interested in (besides the benefits) is the fundamentals of your memberships. With that said, organizing your memberships should be strategic. The three main purposes of memberships are to a) cover costs; b) generate income; and c) establish a specific level of commitment. If you can accomplish all three with a high conversion and retention rate, then your business will be successful.

In this report, we’ll cover the following topics:

·         Trial Memberships

·         Down Payments

·         Pay-in-Full, Term-based, and Month-to-Month Memberships

If you are not already a member, join www.shumanconcepts.com for only $59.95 per month to download the full report.

Marketing Gallery: Karate Bucks Referral Card

This is a professionally designed referral card that looks like money. Studies have shown that the dollar bill attracts people’s attention more than any other piece of paper. Think about it: if you were walking down the street, do you stop and pick up every piece of paper that you see? What if you saw a dollar bill out of the corner of your eye? Would you pick it up? Since the referral card looks like money people are more likely to look at it, especially your younger students. The goal is to get both your children and adults to pass them out.

Shuman Concepts Archive Highlight: Pricing Your Services - Tips you MUST know

One of the biggest challenges a Martial Arts school owners face is knowing how to price his or her services. “Are my program prices too high?” “Are my program prices too low?” We’ve all been there. Personally, I believe in my heart that my knowledge and my services are worth FAR more than what I actually charge.   Still, setting my prices is something I simply struggle with year after year.

S.T.O.R.M. Team Planner: Resiliency

The word resiliency means: to recover from illness, depression, adversity, or the like. We are always going to face challenges in life that we cannot avoid. It is how well we recover from those challenges that make us resilient. As a STORM team leader, it is important that you have the ability to bounce back from setbacks, which sets a great example for others to follow.

Shuman Concepts Tip of the Month: Client Referral Program

Every school should offer some sort of client referral program. The problem is, sometimes the client referral programs don’t work. The reason why is either in the timing or in the delivery. We are launching a seasonal client referral program entering our slowest time of the year, and ending during our busiest time of the year. The goal is to focus our attention on making this project successful at the very beginning when enrollments are slow and then really pushing it hard when it’s about to expire and when enrollments are high.

Here’s how it works:

ü  Have a new referral card made and printed for your students to pass out, or use the Karate Bucks Referral Card from our Marketing Gallery.

ü  Place a stack of your referral cards at your front desk. If you use a new design then you are more likely to attract their attention and get them to take a stack.

ü  Put together a client referral program that has a tier of rewards based on the amount of referrals they send you.

ü  Send out an email to your students announcing your new client referral program.

ü  Place information about your client referral program on your school Website.

ü  Place a flyer about your client referral program at the front desk near the stack of referral cards.

ü  As new clients turn in the referral card, reward the student at the end of class so that your other students can see.

***We have a Client Referral letter in the “Downloads” folder under the main topic “Letters” of the new Shuman Concepts site***
