Master Jhoon Rhee has motivated me to get out of my easy chair and start doing pushups. Okay, today I did two sets of fifty pushups. I pledge to do 100 per day for the following days in December, and beginning the New Year 2009, to do four sets of fifty pushups, 200 per day for the month of January. Thanks for the great website, Master Rhee!

Way to go Bob! I too am working toward the goal of 1000 pushups per day. So far I am doing 125 per day this month and I am going to increase that to 200 in January. I have notified my students I am in this club and now they ask me everyday if I have made my goal for the day. Quite the motivation!!

Thanks, Ron. As Charles Atlas said, "Step by step, and the job is done." This is a great motivational site, and I think it will keep me going toward my goal. Best regards, Bob
They are getting easier to do. I thought to need a day to recover, not so. The first set of 50 at a 10am break lead me to do two sets of 100, one before lunch and one set after, somedays I'll wait till I get home. These are quick 3/4 to 1/2 pushups pressuring the abs to remain stiff. I don't believe in isometric PUs, they train the body to be slow. My heart rate jumps to 120 after one set of 100 and a walk around the parking lot is needed to slow it down, but I have found it only takes 6 minutes to do this.

Does anyone know who invented the pushup?
Well, I have upped the ante a little bit. I am doing six sets of 50 reps per day now.
Thank you Master Rhee for the inspiration and the benchmark for black belts of any style, to apsire too. I'm up to 300 daily.
