while a thunder storm was happening outside. It was highly stressed
that no movement whatsoever occurred. I do have a little bit of a
tendency to move and every time I meditate I practice on holding still
and not think about it. Just relax and sink into the breathing while
the eyes are closed pointing at the middle of the eyebrows to prevent
from falling asleep. Breathe in through the nose out through the mouth 6
to 12 times to oxygenate the body, then in through the nose and out
softly and deeply. Not trying to huff and puff while sitting while
relaxing the mind.
One thing I noticed at the
beginning of every meditation class is how the Sifu immediately gets the
attention from everyone as he starts speaking. Everybody goes quite
and all the attention is on him, and he either begins with a meditation
or with a talk about martial arts and using it in everyday life. I am
intrigued by this, its almost like he developed ways to make people
compliant to him. Its not mind control or using fear to get the
attention, its being disciplined and grounded while taking action. Not
just using that kind of compliance in the dojo but everyday in the real
world. This could help with relationships, friendships, careers, and
making the most out of life. I know thats one of the many reasons why I
decided to get back into martial arts, to take control over my life and
master it!
While speaking he did talk a little bit about details
and tweaking the little things to get perfect at. From bowing, wearing
the sash, to correcting strikes, there are lots of details to master at
and build from. And I assume from tweaking and mastering those details
will add up to people being compliant. I maybe on or off about this
but maybe thats part of the skill. Obviously with structure,
discipline, strikes, grappling, and meditation are great tools to make a
person more centered in life and in there own world. Just so many
details to achieve that level of mindfulness that develops a whole new
mindset that awakens within that gets the effortless effort into high
gear.
I realize that this type of mindset of being grounded and
nonreactive helps get more control over the mind, body, and spirt which
leads to effortless compliance with people. This does not happen over
night but with patients, practicing hard through martial arts and
meditation, I am on the right track to getting to that whole new level
of mastering my own actions. As I said at the end of my first post
(Yellow Sash Test Paper) Nobody is going to save me, except myself, and
martial arts will get my mind and body strong, so I will be capable of
achieving these new strengths and successes in life.
