It is finally here. Are you ready?

We are looking for all members of the community to contribute to this discussion. Please include what you did for the Karate Kid. Feel free to include pictures, videos, and any ideas that you would like to share. I will be posting some videos of what we are doing tonight at the movie theatre.

Us having a private screening for our students and friends has generated tremendous buzz in my town. Thanks sensei Nick. You guys are great.

That is great. We tried to do that but the movie theatre would not let us. BTW-We are having a staff training at my school on June 28th if you would like to attend with your staff. BJJ, and muay thai training as well.

As it opens in theatres today across the USA, I am looking forward to seeing it myself. My sources tell me that it takes literary license as one would expect, but also tries to maintain some semblence of reality. Guess we'll see. I say, just keep it real. No "Croutching Tiger" illusions or wire acts please.

Hello Everyone

We had a little set back with the theater they did not know until last week if they were actuallly going to get the movie. But on Friday last week they called us and said they were. So for the last week all are students have been bringing in their friends, We printed out the tickets from the Library and are giving them to all our students and their familys, we also gave tickets out to all the children who came down and tried out a class. We had them fill out a waiver so we have all their info to contact them in the future. We are not doing a demo at the theater but we are all going in our karate uniform to the theater for the movie which will be nice because The theater would not rent us out the theater but is letting us go durring the regular show time and blocking off the section in the middle for are students the theater holds 250 people as of today we have 125 students and parents and friends that we are going with. We are going Sunday at 1:15 to see the movie. I also was able to get theater down to $4 dollars a ticket.

Michael, I don't know what the Theatre is like outside, but a little impromptu demo may not hurt? Also, not sure if you have school T-shirts with your website on them, but a last minute memo to the students to rock the t-shirts instead of the uniform top would be some serious branding in the theatre... If not all good, the uniforms will still garner a LOT of attention...

We Dont have Tee Shirts with our website on them but we do with out logo on the back Same as our uniforms though they have the logo on the back also. I have to see about the demo because of how small the parking lot is and its on a busy road. They are also letting me put on their markee sign out front Welcome Dragon Gate Martial Arts Academy.

I just left the movie theatre and there were more Martial Arts Schools than people watching the movie. We were all told that we were the exclusive partner of the movie theatre. haha..... Any way, I am looking forward to our school doing a demo for the 7:00 show time. I will upload it on the community.

Sensei Gregg Borrego from Texas has already enrolled 9 students. He is the only school in the movie theatre and he said people are going crazy over the movie.
